I always start with L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution (was £4.99, now £3.33) to remove my eyeshadow and mascara. It's great! Doesn't sting whatsoever and removes makeup pretty well, without the need for too much rubbing. Next I wash off the rest of my makeup with Eve Lom Cleanser (from £40). This cleanser is so luxurious. It smells very fresh and herbally, melts onto your skin, removing every trace of makeup and once you wipe it off with a muslin cloth, it leaves your skin feeling super soft and hydrated. It's amazing! As my 2nd cleanser I've been using Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm (£20), which is an exfoliating balm containing oatmeal to buff away dead skin cells. I really recommend it. If you want to test it out before committing to the full size, I explain how you can get a sample here.
The biggest lesson I've learnt, thanks to skincare expert Caroline Hirons, is that we should always double cleanse whenever wearing makeup and especially if wearing SPF. A lot of people dislike wearing SPF because they think it breaks them out. The chances are you are just not removing SPF from your skin properly at the end of the day. So no matter how tired you are, always wash and wash twice, if necessary! ;-)
After all the cleansing is done, I apply Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner (£20 from Escentual). I find it's very important to incorporate an exfoliating toner as well as a hydrating one (like the one I use in the morning) in your routine. I wear it twice a week. Following the toner, I apply Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum (was £48, now £43). I wake up with such an amazingly supple skin after wearing this. Another luxurious product that I can no longer live without.
Lastly I apply Nivea Lip Balm in Vanilla Macadamia (£2.25) and my Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Eye Cream (£44). This is my favourite eye cream ever! As I got older, my eye area has become drier, and this eye cream was the only one I tried that actually made a difference. It is expensive for such a small pot but I can promise you it's worth every penny, especially if you are over 30's like me or want to keep your eyes looking younger for longer.

Do you? Shame! I mean, it's not as good as Bioderma, but it does the job for me, since I only use it as a 1st step to help remove my waterproof mascara, before using proper cleansers. Have you tried the Garnier micellar water? I recently bought it and I'm looking forward to trying it and comparing both. x
DeleteGreat post, time to update my skincare routine I think :)

The nivea lip butters are great. So hydrating and really cheap. I definitely recommend trying the clarins toner. If you do wear it during the day, though, try to also wear SPF to protect your skin. X
