The Perfect Mother's Day Gifts

Dior J'Adore EDP and Clarins Odyssey Face Palette

Mother's Day is around the corner and I thought I'd share with you these two beautiful products which I think would make the perfect gift for the day.

I have to start by talking about this classic and stunning fragrance that is Dior J'Adore Eau de Parfum*. Dior makes one of my all time favourite fragrances, Miss Dior. And although I already knew J'Adore since its iconic debut with Charlize Theron's commercial back in 2011, I had not tried it until now. Boy, was I missing out! I'm now totally head over heels with it.

Dior J'Adore EDP

Such a beautiful fruity-floral scent, combining notes of bergamot, roses and jasmine. It's fresh, sensual and very long lasting. Not to mention the bottle is to die for. I love the unique design. According to Dior its rounded body and slender golden neck were inspired by an amphora, the beautifully simple container from ancient times and it's also a homage to the female curves. Lovely concept and exceptional execution. The finishing touch is the cap, which looks like a stunning piece of jewellery, resembling a tight necklace of bangles with a glass top where you'll find the word J'Adore engraved. This perfume has become a new favourite and I'd highly recommend it for anyone who'd like to feel feminine and elegant. I think it'd be a brilliant gift for Mother's Day. It's that kind of product that I'd say "I'll eat my hat" if your mum doesn't love it. :D The 30ml size I have can be purchased at Debenhams for £49.50.

Another great gift idea for mums who like makeup - or perhaps yourself (why not?) - is this Clarins Odyssey Face Palette* which is described as a "silky-smooth compact powder to enhance the complexion for a beautiful, more even skin tone". It's essentially a universal (one fits all) peach coloured face powder. It works perfectly on my light/medium skin tone and I think it would also be suitable for those with a pale complexion. However, I'm not sure this would actually work for people with dark skin.

I tend to steer clear of powders because they usually emphasize dry patches on my skin and leave my makeup looking heavy or too matte. This one is different. It's got a gorgeous golden overspray, which I removed completely on my first use as it was way too glittery to be applied to the face. The product itself is matte and I didn't notice any luminosity with it, which in a sense let me down a little bit, as I was hoping it'd be one of those powders that also add radiance to the skin. Nonetheless this is a beautiful powder and the best one I've tried so far. It tones down the shine without making my skin look dull. The powder is extremely finely milled and buttery smooth, making it perfect for touch ups as it never looks cakey and looks pretty natural. I also love the golden chic packaging and the fact it comes with a soft velvet pouch to protect it.

So if you're looking for a powder to keep your skin from looking oily while still looking like skin, this is the one for you. It's a brilliant product and I cannot fault it. It retails at Debenhams for £35. While it's not the cheapest, you get 11g of product and the quality is pretty amazing.

You can find some other great gift inspiration for Mother's Days at Debenham's website. #Foundit :)

What do you think of these products? Have you tried any of them? X
