Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson Matte Revolution Lipstick - Miss Kensington

Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson Matte Revolution Miss Kensington Lipstick

Happy National Lipstick Day! :)

To celebrate this special date, I thought I'd talk about my newest lipstick purchase, the Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson Matte Revolution Miss Kensington Lipstick (Limited Edition).

Last year I jumped into the hype and bought one of the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks in the shade Very Victoria. If you want, you can read my review here. I have always avoided matte lipsticks due to how much they dry my already dry and dehydrated lips. But boy I was impressed. Basically I love the formula. Charlotte managed to create a matte lipstick with a creamy and completely non drying formula while still looking very opaque, pigmented and matte. Simply amazing. However, sadly I got to the conclusion that Very Victoria was not "very me", as it's a brown nude and I just didn't think it suited my complexion. So I spent months hoping Charlotte Tilbury would release more shades and she finally did.

As a quick overview, the Norman Parkinson collection comes with some lovely products. I wasn't very keen on the cream bronzer and highlighter duo but really liked the colour of youth (lip and cheek) cream product, the lipsticks and the powder highlighter is stunning (although I thought it was ridiculously expensive at £45). Considering I can buy the Filmstar Bronze & Glow duo for £49, I decided to pass on that one. Here's a simple shot I took of the collection at Selfridges (using my iPhone) and posted on my Instagram.

The pillar box red 1975 lipstick is stunning. It's got a hint of orange and I think it's amazing for Summer. But I love my nudes, so decided to go for the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Miss Kensington Lipstick, which is a simple but very pretty peach nude. And as with any of the Matte Revolution Lipsticks, the packaging is the ever so luxurious golden bullet and the formula and pigmentation are great, although I have to say this shade in particular seems a bit more sheer than the others. I feel I need to swipe a few times to get a good colour pay off but bear in mind lipsticks look different on everyone, depending on the colour of our lips. As with any matte lipstick, I need to make sure I keep my lips exfoliated and moisturised. Even though the formula is very soft and non drying, it still emphasizes dry / flaky patches.

Finally, if you're a nude lip lover like me, I recommend picking up Miss Kensington lipstick. It's not my favourite lipstick in my collection but out of all matte lipsticks I've tried, it's easily the best and I love the colour! It's limited edition and retails for £23, which is the same price of all Charlotte Tilbury's lipsticks and you can buy it online via Selfridges and Charlotte Tilbury's website. If you live in London, you can also find Charlotte Tilbury's products in Fenwick, Bond Street. And for those in the US, Charlotte Tilbury is available at Nordstrom. :)

Did you buy anything from the Charlotte Tilbury Norman Parkinson collection? If not, would you like to? What would you pick? X
