Clinique is a brand I really admire. Surprisingly, I haven't tried a huge amount of their products. But that is about to change, with their NEW Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer Lipsticks. When I saw the colours and the promise of smooth and long lasting finish, I knew I had to give them a try.
The packaging is not outstanding, I have to say, but it's very sturdy and I love that it matches the colour of the product inside, which makes it easier to identify the lipstick you want to wear, in case you have a few of them.
|Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer in 04 Beige Pop|
I only picked up one shade for now, as I wanted to see how I'd get on with it before buying more. The colour 04 Beige Pop is a beautiful pinky nude (my favourite type of colour), very pretty. Great shade for days I don't want to wear much makeup but still want a nice and girly "pop" of colour on the lips or when I want the focus to be on my eye look.
I wasn't expecting to like these as much as I do. The formula is where I'm quite impressed with these lipsticks. They are incredibly creamy, smooth and pigmented. The texture is seriously buttery. They glide on the lips and remind me a lot of the Mac Amplified formula. The priming properties are meant to nourish the lips and keep them moisturised for 8 hours. While I don't agree that they last that long (at least that's my experience with the colour I chose), I do agree that it's a very moisturising product and makes my lips feel soft and hydrated for as long as I have it on. I also like that it fades nicely, leaving a very subtle stain behind, which makes it more long lasting. However, if I'm eating and drinking, I have to reapply it every 2-3h. But then again, like I said, I chose a very nude colour. I believe the darker shades are bound to last longer.
There are 16 shades in this collection and they are all simply beautiful, as you can see in the photo below. As usual, Clinique's products are 100% Fragrance Free and allergy tested. I fell in love with Melon Pop, that has a very peach / coral under tone, which I think will be great for Spring and Summer. I have my eyes now on that one and Plum Pop. Now that I know I love these Pop Lip Colours + Primer, I need more in my life. At £16 I think they are worth the money.Have you tried the new Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer? If you could get just one shade, which one would it be? X
