Discovering Trilogy Products & Celebrating World Oceans Day!

Trilogy Products & Haul

I'm a huge fan of natural products so looking after my skin whilst also being environmentally friendly is something I enjoy more and more each day and take seriously. Trilogy’s mantra is ‘maximum effect on your skin, minimum effect on our environment’. So no need to say I was honoured when they approached me to take part on the World Oceans Day campaign, which is celebrated tomorrow (8th June).

World Oceans Day is all about raising awareness to the importance of knowing what is in our cosmetic products and how it is affecting the environment around us. Microbeads are tiny pieces of plastic that are present in some cosmetic products, such as facial scrubs and shower gels. The beads become swelling plastic debris in the ocean, playing a major threat to our planet’s ecosystems and wildlife. According to an article I saw recently on BBC News, several nations, including the US, have already banned microbeads in cosmetics because of their impact on marine life. Read more on how to join in and support the campaign here.

And if you wish to help protect the environment and adopt the plastic free facial scrubs, my biggest recommendation is the Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant*. It's a new discovery to me but I'm truly loving it. Formulated with natural, biodegradable and non abrasive jojoba wax spheres, this scrub is ultra gentle on the skin, removes surface debris brilliantly and leaves my skin feeling soft afterwards, with no signs of tightness. It's also supposed to improve skin brightness but I haven't been using it long enough to testify to it. But overall big thumbs up! It's something I'd definitely purchase in the future. RRP £21.50.

The other products I was sent to try are:

Balancing Gel Cleanser*
This is my second favourite product from this haul. Love the natural scent and how it makes me feel awake and invigorated first thing in the morning. Although it foams up really well, it's soap free and leaves me feeling incredibly clean, without drying it, as most facial washes do. LOVE IT! (RRP £22.50)

Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser

Rosapene Night Cream*
Another exceptional product. Filled with anti oxidant Rosapene, goji and manuka honey, this product is super rich and creamy. A little goes a very long way and I wake up with a very hydrated and supple skin. Again, has a lovely herbal like scent and comes with a spatula to help keep the product decontaminated. Can't find a single negative about it. (RRP £28.50)

Trilogy Rosapene Night Cream

Vital Moisturising Cream SPF15*
This is a light weight cream that absorbs into the skin quite quickly and the best of all is it's enriched with both natural and organic ingredients, such as evening primrose, marula and certified organic rosehip oils. And the additional SPF15 makes it the perfect partner for Summer. It keeps my skin hydrated without looking greasy. Healthy looking complexion in a tube. RRP £27.50 (on sale for £22)

Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream SPF15

Very Gentle Calming Serum*
Soothing and hydrating with SyriCalm, calendula and green tea. This line is perfect for sensitive skin, as it helps sooth irritated areas. It's fragrance free & essential oil free. Can be used on its own or under moisturiser. I tend to pair it with moisturiser for extra hydration but it seems to be a pretty good job on it's own too. I also really like that it comes with a cover to protect the pump when you take it on the go. It's the little things. :) RRP £32

Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum

Rose Hand Cream*
Intensive repair and conditioning with rosehip, marshmallow and rose. Very moisturising and sinks in pretty quickly. Really like it but considering the price and main ingredients, I expected the scent to be a little nicer and perhaps smell a bit more like roses. RRP £15.50

Trilogy Rose Hand Cream

Refresh and Shine Shampoo*
This is the only product I didn't fall completely head over heels with. My hair is a bit dry, voluminous and on the slightly coarse side so I need something a bit more nourishing. It does smell lovely and lathers up well. I think someone with fine fair would really like it. Just not quite right for me, unless I use lots of conditioner. RRP £14

Trilogy Refresh and Shine Shampoo

So I absolutely love the scrub, the gel cleanser, the day & night creams. They're definitely my favourite products out of the bunch and the ones I'd 100% recommend buying. But overall, all Trilogy products are great and totally worth trying in my opinion.

Have you guys used any of these products or any others from Trilogy? And what do you think about the #beatthemicrobead movement? Are you gonna join in? X
