Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette

Eyeshadow is one of my biggest weaknesses when it comes to makeup. Trust me, I probably have most colours I'll ever need. Yet, I keep adding to my collection (#sorrynotsorry). My latest acquisition is the beautiful Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made PaletteAnastasia Beverly Hill became really popular with her eyebrow range, which I haven't tried yet, but her eyeshadow palettes are probably her second most acclaimed products. And I can now see why. From presentation to shade selection and quality, her Self Made Palette is a makeup addict's best friend.

The beautiful gunmetal packaging is made of cardboard but feels very solid and sturdy on the hand. It's got a big mirror, which is always very useful on the go. The palette also comes with a duo shadow brush, which I am very pleased with. One end has a small shading brush and the other has a fluffy blending brush. It's not clear in the description but I'm pretty convinced the bristles are real hair. Very soft and does the job really well. I have been using it a lot.

The palette comes with 14 eyeshadows (0.72g / 0.025 oz each). I personally think that's a pretty descent size and the colours are stunning. I love that most of the shadows are neutral but I can still get a pop of colour with "Deep Purple" and "Isla".

Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette
L to R: Pink Champagne, Metallic Plum, Self Made, Witchy, Blush, Blossom & Buttery

★ Pink Champagne: A mix between rosy and taupe, with a metallic finish and lots of sparkle
★ Metallic Plum: Dark plummy brown and frosted finish. One of my favourite shades
★ Self Made: Medium, golden brown - sort of antique looking - with shimmer
★ Witchy: Dark brown with a hint of green and golden shimmer
★ Blush: Dirty beige with a pearly finish. Looks slightly duo chrome, showing hints of pink.
★ Blossom: Medium dark, shimmery pink
★ Buttery: Muted yellow with matte finish

L to R: Deep Purple, Treasure, Hot & Cold, Sherbert, Isla, Spirit Rock & Hot Chocolate

★ Deep Purple: Rich violet purple and frosted sheen
★ Treasure: Beige / Champaign with metallic finish
★ Hot & Cold: Coppery brown with warm undertones. Simply stunning! Another favourite.
★ Sherbert: Orangy brown with pearly finish
★ Isla: Aqua green with a golden sheen
★ Spirit Rock: Deep matte black with pink sparkle
★ Hot Chocolate: Medium dark brown - matte finish

I cannot fault the quality of these shadows. The only shade I'd say I struggle to get good colour pay of is pink champagne (the glittery one) but the others are all buttery smooth, easy to blend, super pigmented and I also love the variety of finishes available in the palette. I didn't experience fallout either, which is a big plus. I would have liked to see a light matte brown included, to work as a transition shade but I can still sort of get away with using Sherbert for the job. Not the same, but it works.

Below I had Sherbert on the crease, Treasure on the lid and inner corner of the eye with a bit of Pink Champagne on top to add some sparkle, Metallic Plum on the outer V and Isla on my lower lash line (although it didn't show up on the photo very well). Please check main photo at the top for a better view of my eye look. :)

So in the end, I think this palette is really nice and I'm very happy with quality, shades, brush & packaging. I'd rate it somewhere around 8 out of 10.
