My Summer Body Care Must Haves

Summer Body Care Must Haves

Summer is all about baring it all so I feel it's really important to use the right products to ensure my skin feels and looks its best. I always switch my skincare routine around with every change of season and I thought I'd share with you a breakdown of all my current must have products this SS15.

Starting with intimate care, femfresh is a brand I have been using for a long time. I've loved their gel washes for years. Lately, I've been using the Everyday Care Daily Gel Wash (£2.99). I like that the formula is soap free and pH-balanced, which is essential to protect our intimate areas. It's got just a hint of Aloe Vera to sooth the skin and smells lovely, while also feeling really gentle on the skin. I've also recently added the Everyday Care Freshening & Soothing Cloths (£3.49) to my daily routine. They're perfect for festivals and general days I know I'll be out until late and might want to freshen up a bit. The formula is also pH-balanced and infused with calendula and mallow extracts to gently cleanse. These, again, have a great scent that is subtle but helps me feel clean and fresh for longer. The pack I have contains 25 cloths but there's also a smaller pack of 10 cloths (£1.59), which I need to buy as it'll be easier to keep in my handbag and use it on the go. All femfresh products are hypoallergenic, dermatologically and gynaecologically tested. Overall, I'm loving these two products. They're a must have all year round, particularly during hot Summer days.

Among my shower essentials you'll also find the Soap & Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel. I'm on my 2nd bottle. Love the creamy consistency and the best of all is it leaves my skin very moisturised after use.

Another item I can't be without during the Summer months is the Ren Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish. We can't go out wearing a cute skirt or a pretty dress while having flaky, dry legs, right? This is such a luxurious sugar scrub that has a very delicate rose scent. It feels slightly oily on the skin and makes it extremely soft.

Exfoliating is a very important step in my skincare routine, especially before I use my Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Tan. I did an in depth review on it but to sum it up, it's been my favourite tanning product because it gives me a beautiful glow. Plus, unlike most self tanners, this one actually smells nice and flowery, feels hydrating on the skin and dries really fast. On days I don't use this gradual tanning moisturiser, I then use a body butter. My favourite one has been the Shea Butter from The Body Shop

I've also started dry brushing my legs. Doing this is supposed to soften the skin by removing dead cells and stimulating microcirculation, which will then reduce cellulite and help detox the body. I won't lie... it's not the most pleasant thing, as the brush can be a bit harsh on the skin. But I think it's worth the effort. Although I've only been doing it for a short period, I can already see some results. I bought my body brush from The Body Shop but there are cheaper alternatives available in the drugstore.

Last but not least, I can't talk about Summer must haves without mentioning a good deodorant. I'm currently really enjoying the Salt of The Earth Natural Deodorant. This was a recommendation from my blogger friend Brenda Busy Bee. It's basically an unscented salt deodorant, free from alcohol, aluminium and parabens. It works by killing the bacteria that causes us to have BO, rather than just repressing our sweat glands like normal anti-perspirants do. Much healthier way to stay clean and I actually think it works a lot better too.

So these are My Summer Body Care Must Haves. Which product is essential to your daily routine this time of the year? X
